Why is handmade soap much more expensive then the ordinary soap ?
为什么手工皂比一般的肥皂贵好多？
Those soaps that we buy from grocery stores are generally made of chemical or synthetic additives. Using these synthetic additives overtime would not only dry out our skin but also lead to rashes and other irritation. Besides, the soap manufacturing process produces glycerin that carries higher value than soap itself. Commercial soap makers take the glycerin out of soap to sell to the cosmetic makers. Hence the soap that we buy from the grocery stores are actually soap without glycerin. Such soap is great for cleansing but no moisturizing property.
Handmade soap, on the other hand, maintains its natural glycerin. That’s why it is more valuable than the ordinary soap.
市面上一般的香皂都含有化学或人工合成的添加剂, 长期使用这些添加剂不但令皮肤干燥并且会导致皮疹与其他问题. 此外, 在制作肥皂的过程中所产生的甘油, 其经济价值比肥皂本身来的高, 厂商会把甘油从肥皂中抽取出来卖给化妆品制造商, 然后把不含甘油的肥皂卖给消费者. 这样的肥皂具备清洁力可是不滋润.
相反的, 手工皂仍然保留它的天然甘油, 所以价值是比市售肥皂高得多的.

How long is the validity of a handmade soap ?
手工皂的有效期是多久？
Under normal circumstances a handmade soap is good for about 18 months, but there are some exceptional cases. For example, shea butter soap and Marseille soap can last for up to three years, while soaps that contain high concentration of grape seed oil or avocado oil tend to rancid faster thus must be used within 6 months. Besides, oil quality and saponification period shall also affect the soap performance. However, even if after the indicated expiry date, soap is still good for use as long as it does not smell like oil stain.
手工皂的保存期一般上是18个月， 但也有例外的时候。例如乳油木果脂皂和马赛皂就越久越好用， 据说保存期可长达三年；葡萄籽油或酪梨油含量多的皂酸败得快所以最好在6个月内使用。 此外， 油脂的品质和皂化程度也会影响肥皂的使用期。 不过， 就算过了指定有效期， 只要肥皂没有发出油污味， 还是可以放心使用的。

After washing my hair with handmade soap, it became entangled and very hard for me to comb. Why ?
用手工皂洗头， 头髪都卡在一起很难梳理。 为什么？
When the hair is cleansed, the hair cuticles expand and entangle with each other hence it is hard to comb. Not to worry ! Just add a teaspoon of lemon joice or apple veneger into a cup of water. Apply onto your hair the way you use hair conditioner. Rinse off with clean water. Now your hair becomes smooth again.
头髪经过清洗后， 毛鳞片张开互相卡住了所以很难梳理。别担心！ 这是暂时的， 等头髪乾时， 头髪就变得很滑顺很好梳理了。不过， 若是不耐烦等到头髪乾了在梳， 那就用一小茶匙柠檬汁或苹果醋加入一杯水中， 像润髪素一样涂抹在洗好的头髪上， 然后用清洁的水冲干净， 头髪就恢复顺滑了。

Is handmade soap relatively less foaming ?
手工皂会不会比较少泡沫？
You may think that handmade soap is not able to produce foam since it does not contain frother. This is misconception. Besides coconut oils, users who fancy rich foaming soap can look for soap that contain palm kernel oil, castor oil, shea butter..etc.
一般以为手工皂不含起泡剂就没办法产生泡沫， 那是误解了。除了椰油会产生泡沫以外， 喜欢泡沫多的朋友可以选择含有棕榈核油， 蓖麻油， 乳油木果脂。。。等等的肥皂。

Why do you not indicate soap benefit on the soap label ?
为什么标签上没有注明肥皂的功效？
Everybody's body and skin condition is not the same thus respond differently to individual soap. Some may see significant result but it may not work for others. Certain people may be sensitive to certain materials and found it not suitable. Therefore we cannot indicate the soap benefit to be responsible to consumers. Users will find out the most suitable soap through self experience.
每个人的体质不同， 因此对个别肥皂的反应也不一样。 有些功效在一些人身上很显著， 对另一些人可能没有作用。 有些人可能对某些材料敏感而不适合使用。所以不可以很确切地注明功效。 客人必须自己体会过才知道哪一种肥皂适合您。
